About Manufacturer

Microchip is a leading global supplier of microcontrollers and analog semiconductors, providing low-risk product development, lower total system cost and faster time-to-market for thousands of consumer products worldwide.

Microchip has closely followed the embedded control semiconductor market since its inception in 1989. In order to increase market share, we have developed two advantageous products by focusing on technology, design, production, sales and other aspects: PIC8-bit microcontroller (MCU) and high-quality serial EEPROM.

Main Business:

General-purpose and special-purpose 8-, 16-, and 32-bit microcontrollers, including 32-bit microprocessors and microcontrollers, for automotive, industrial, computing, communications, lighting, power, motor control, HMI, security as well as wired and wireless connectivity applications.

Development tools, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) products enable system designers to program microcontroller products for specific applications.

Power, interface, mixed-signal and timing products, including power management, linear, mixed-signal, high voltage, thermal management, discrete diode and metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETS), radio frequency (RF), drivers, safety, security, timing , USB, Ethernet, wireless and other interface products.

Memory products, including serial electrical programmable read-only memory, serial flash, parallel flash, serial static random access memory, and serial electrical dynamic random access memory, are used to produce very small packaged devices.

Wafer foundry and assembly and test subcontract manufacturing services; aerospace and timing system products, application specific integrated circuits and complex programmable logic devices.

Important Acquisitions:

Acquired Atmel in 2016, Atmel's touch sensing controller IP, MEMS sensor interface and security technology have brought greater value to Microchip, further enhancing its competitiveness in the MCU market.

Acquired high-voltage analog and mixed-signal chip maker Supertex Inc. in 2017, strengthening its supply to the medical, LED lighting, industrial and telecommunications industries

The acquisition of Microsemi in early 2018 completes Microchip's solutions in the data center, communications and defense and aerospace fields, and expands its analog and mixed-signal product lines.
