Acquisitions

Analog Devices Inc. has made many acquisitions over the years to expand their product portfolio and offer its customers an ever-growing range of high-performance integrated circuits and systems.

The company’s most recent and largest acquisition is the semiconductor business of Maxim Integrated in 2020, for $20.91 billion. The acquisition of Maxim’s analog and power management products will increase Analog Device’s commitment to their industrial, automotive, and consumer markets. The combination of the two companies will create a comprehensive portfolio of analog, sensor, and power technology solutions, allowing Analog Devices Inc. to better serve its customers with even higher-performance products and more efficient designs.

In 2017, Analog Devices Inc. acquired Linear Technology Corporation and established itself as one of the world’s most comprehensive and innovative high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductor companies. Additionally, over the years the company has made numerous smaller acquisitions in an effort to stay competitive such as Hittite Microwave Corporation, acquired in 2015; Symetrix Corporation, acquired in 2015; the RF components division of Cambridge Silicon Radio, acquired in 2016; and Quantance, Inc. acquired in 2017.
